May 8th the post has been invited again to provide the color guard at the Lions Club District Meeting at the San Ramon Marriott.

May 14th is our monthly post meeting at the Veterans Memorial Building. Starting time is 7:00pm, mark your calendar and plan on attending. If you are eligible to join the VFW please come as a guest and check out the organization.

Friday and Saturday, May 15th and 16th, the post will setup "Buddy Poppy" tables in front of many stores. Remember the "Buddy Poppy" is a remembrance flower and Memorial Day is just around the corner, please stop by and talk to a veteran and get your "Buddy Poppy". Monday May 25th preparation for the Memorial Day Ceremony will begin early. While several members of Post and American Legion place wreaths at various sites throughout town (Gary Meyer Memorial, Lion Wayside Park, Veterans Plaza, etc.) various color guards from the Post, American Legion, and Scouts will assemble for the ceremony. At 11:00 hoursthe Memorial Day Ceremony will begin. The theme is "Remember Their Sacrifice". The Pleasanton Community Concert Band will play before, during and after the ceremony. There will be multiple VIPs and guest speakers. The Berkeley Air Force Honor Guard will perform the 21 gun salute tribute. Who knows there may even be another fly over, like the P-51 did last year. The ceremony should conclude by 12:00 hours. Attendees are invited to re-assemble at the Veterans Memorial Building for lunch, which should be served between 12:00 hours and 13:15 hours. After lunch at 13:15 hours to 13:30 hours two Girl Scouts will dedicate a Historical Plaque as part of their Golden Acorn project.

Oh Yeah!, we meet ever Saturday socially from 7:30am to 9:00am for coffee and donuts. You don't have to be a member of the Post or American Legion to join us, it is open to all veterans. So come on down!
