You are cordially invited to attend the Welcome Home Ceremony for SSG Jay Wilkerson who was seriously wounded in Iraq on February 28th 2006 while serving with the US. Army Multi-National Security Unit. Nearly 3 years later after undergoing multiple surgeries in 3 military hospitals and rehabilitation in the Palo Alto Veterans Hospital this exceptional young man will be moving to Pleasanton California to start his new life.
We will celebrate his journey of selfless service and sacrifice to our nation as we honor him and accept him in to our community.
SSG Wilkerson has been awarded a scholarship from the Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation in honor of his service to our nation and will be supported by a team of business professionals and mentors in Pleasanton who have accepted the responsibility to walk at his side over the next 4 years as he strives to achieve his life goals of continued education and a successful career in business.
We are honored that this young man who received the Bronze Star for his heroism in combat has chosen Pleasanton as his new home due to its friendly people, educational opportunities, employment opportunities and quality of life.
The ceremony will be held on March 4th at the Veterans Memorial Building located at 301 Main Street in downtown Pleasanton.
